Wedoany.com Report-Dec.18, AD Ports Group has signed a Shareholder Agreement with AVESTO Group to form a new joint venture company that will provide integrated logistics and freight forwarding services throughout Tajikistan.
The joint venture will operate as an asset-light freight forwarder in its first phase. It receives exclusive rights to consolidate and manage all freight and logistics activities of AVESTO Group's subsidiaries while also serving third-party clients in the open market.
AVESTO Group stands as one of Tajikistan's leading private-sector enterprises. It runs more than 30 major businesses and manufacturing facilities across diverse industries and maintains active partnerships with eight prominent international joint venture partners.
Ownership of the joint venture is structured with AD Ports Group holding a 51 percent majority stake and AVESTO Group owning the remaining 49 percent. The partnership is designed in phased stages to enable steady growth and progressive expansion of operations.
Abdulaziz Zayed Al-Shamsi, Regional CEO of AD Ports Group, said: "This partnership marks an important milestone in our continued expansion across Central Asia. Tajikistan's growing industrial base and strategic location present significant opportunities for developing advanced logistics capabilities that support regional trade flows. Through our collaboration with AVESTO Group, we aim to deliver world-class logistics solutions that strengthen the Middle Corridor and reinforce our position as a global trade enabler."
Muhamad Mirzo, General Director of AVESTO Group, said: "As a key driver of Tajikistan's industrial sector, AVESTO Group is committed to connecting our nation's products to the world. Partnering with a global leader like AD Ports Group allows us to transform Tajikistan's logistics landscape. Together, we are not just moving freight, we are building a modern strategic gateway that connects Central Asia to global markets and unlocks new economic potential for the entire region."
The new entity will focus on streamlining supply chains, improving cargo consolidation, and expanding access to reliable forwarding services for both domestic producers and international traders. By combining AD Ports Group's global logistics expertise with AVESTO's strong local network, the joint venture aims to handle increasing trade volumes efficiently.
Tajikistan's position along key regional corridors offers natural advantages for faster and more cost-effective movement of goods between Asia and Europe. The partnership supports these flows by introducing integrated solutions tailored to local manufacturing needs.
Earlier this week, AD Ports Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kuwait Ports Authority to explore development and operation of container handling services at Shuaiba Port.
These two agreements reflect AD Ports Group's active strategy to build presence in high-growth regions through targeted collaborations. The Tajikistan joint venture is expected to begin operations soon, starting with consolidation of AVESTO's existing freight volumes and gradually extending services to external customers.
This initiative strengthens logistics infrastructure in Central Asia, supports industrial output, and creates new opportunities for efficient cross-border trade. The phased approach ensures sustainable development while delivering immediate value to manufacturers and shippers in the country.
