Turkey's Grain Production Plummets in 2025

Wedoany.com Report-Dec.30, According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the country's total wheat production in 2025 has dropped to 17.9 million tons, a decrease of 13.7% compared to last year.

Barley production fell by 25.9% to 6 million tons. Corn production also declined to 8.5 million tons (down 4.9% from last year).

Due to the poor harvest, Turkey will be forced to increase grain imports. In the first four months of this season, Turkey imported 1.4323 million tons of wheat, a 28% increase compared to the same period last year.
