Wedoany.com Report-Jan.3, The cable-laying vessel Seaway Aimery has set sail from the United States to Europe to participate in the inter-array cable installation for the East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm in the UK. According to the navigation notice issued by the project party, the submarine cable laying operation is expected to commence around January 12, 2026.
The Seaway Aimery will install submarine cables between the wind turbine locations and the offshore substation, with support from another vessel, the Seaway Moxie, for equipment and personnel transfers. The project began foundation construction in April 2025 and plans to install 95 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 1.4 gigawatts.
This offshore wind farm is jointly owned by ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar and is scheduled to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. Previously, the offshore substation for the project was installed by a heavy-lift installation vessel in October 2025.
According to voyage data, the Seaway Aimery departed from the Port of Providence in the United States on December 27, heading to the Port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands. Both vessels are expected to depart from this port around January 5, 2026, for the wind farm's operational area. This cable-laying operation is one of the critical stages in the construction of the offshore wind farm.
