Wedoany.com Report on Feb 6th, in Dalian, Liaoning, China, Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. officially released its 2025 operational and development performance report. The Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant achieved a record annual grid electricity generation of 49.15 billion kilowatt-hours.

As the first nuclear power plant and the largest power energy base in Northeast China, the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is located in Hongyanhe Town, Wafangdian City, Dalian, Liaoning. In June 2022, all six units of the Phase I and Phase II projects of the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant were fully completed and put into operation, with a total installed capacity of 6.71 million kilowatts and a total investment of 90 billion yuan.

Since commencing power generation, the grid electricity generation from Hongyanhe Nuclear Power has steadily increased. As of December 31, 2025, the cumulative grid electricity generation from Hongyanhe Nuclear Power reached 380.869 billion kilowatt-hours. Compared to coal-fired power plants of equivalent scale, this has equivalently reduced standard coal consumption by approximately 115 million tons, cut carbon dioxide emissions by about 352 million tons, and is equivalent to planting 857,000 hectares of forest in the Liaoning and Shenyang region.

In 2025, all six units of the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant remained under control throughout the year, with a good nuclear safety status and no unplanned shutdowns or reactor trips, achieving the annual safety production target. The plant successfully completed three rounds of major overhauls during the year, with safety and quality conditions kept under control.
