Wedoany.com Report on Feb 4th, The global electronics association recently released the December 2025 statistical data for the North American printed circuit board (PCB) industry. The report shows that the book-to-bill ratio for the month reached 1.18, indicating that market demand exceeded supply levels. In December 2025, total North American PCB shipments increased by 11.0% year-over-year but decreased by 12.8% month-over-month. Cumulative annual shipments grew by 12.8% compared to the same period last year.

PCB orders for the same period also showed an 11.0% year-over-year increase but a 17.7% month-over-month decline. Cumulative annual orders grew by 15.0% year-over-year. Industry data indicates that the North American PCB market exhibited a balanced performance in December, with order volume exceeding shipment volume, which may signal signs of growing demand. However, looking at longer-term three-month and full-year cumulative metrics, shipment growth outpaced order growth, suggesting the industry may be working through backlogs and more actively fulfilling existing demand.
Dr. Sean Dubravac, Chief Economist of the global electronics association, stated: "The North American PCB book-to-bill ratio strengthened again in December, partly due to relatively weak shipments. Orders remained stable, indicating that order momentum is improving as we move into the year." The foundation for industry growth remains solid, but sustaining growth momentum requires an acceleration in new orders, not just the fulfillment of existing ones.
Companies participating in the global electronics association's statistical program can access more detailed data analysis, including sales and order figures for rigid printed circuit boards and flexible circuits, growth trends by product type and company size, prototype demand, and sales data for military and medical markets. The book-to-bill ratio is calculated by comparing the value of orders booked over the past three months to the sales value for the same period. This metric is a key reference for assessing sales growth over the next three to twelve months.
Year-over-year growth rates and cumulative annual growth rates provide a more meaningful perspective for understanding industry development trends. Monthly data may be influenced by seasonality and short-term fluctuations and should be interpreted with caution. North American PCB industry data is based on a representative sample of manufacturers in the United States and Canada. The global electronics association regularly publishes related statistical information on a monthly basis.
