Wedoany.com Report-Nov 28, A new agreement for diesel multiple units was signed between Trinity Metro and Stadler in the US.

Trinity Metro and Stadler have signed a contract for four more Stadler DMU FLIRT trains to join the TEXRail service in Fort Worth. The new units will join the existing fleet that has been operating since 2019.

The current TEXRail service operates eight Stadler FLIRT diesel multiple units, numbered 101 to 108. Each unit seats 229 passengers and can carry up to 488 passengers. The trains are powered by two Deutz engines, each producing 520 kW, meeting US EPA Tier 4 emission standards.

These vehicles can reach a top speed of 130 km/h, though they operate at a maximum of 110 km/h. The units are 81 meters, weighing 160 tonnes when empty, increasing to 201 tonnes when fully loaded.

The addition of the four new trains will increase the TEXRail fleet, supporting service between downtown Fort Worth and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
