A two-component high-zinc-content epoxy zinc-rich primer composed of epoxy resin, polyamide curing agent, and zinc powder; its composition complies with Level 1 of SSPC Paint 20, Type 1 Class 1 of HG/T 3668-2020, and the requirements of GB/T 50393-2017 and SH/T 3022-2019; it can also be customized with Type II low-lead zinc powder meeting ASTM D520 standard according to order requirements.
Main Performance
The coating film contains an extremely high zinc powder content, providing excellent rust prevention; it offers cathodic protection for locally damaged areas; outstanding adhesion to blast-cleaned carbon steel surfaces; in dry conditions, a single coat has a short-term maximum service temperature of 200°C and a long-term temperature resistance not exceeding 120°C.
Design Purpose
Can be used as a primer in combination with epoxy paints, etc., for blast-cleaned steel surfaces in moderate to severe corrosive environments, such as port machinery, offshore platforms, construction machinery, storage tanks and pipelines, power facilities, etc.; can be applied over approved retained zinc-rich shop primers; suitable for repair of damaged galvanized surfaces or zinc silicate primer coatings. For maintenance, cathodic protection and rust prevention can only be achieved when applied to surfaces prepared to bare steel.
