Product Introduction

Observation Principle

The DDW1 Lightning Locator detects changes in the electromagnetic field at the observation station caused by lightning discharge using the principles of electromagnetic induction and charge induction. It records the precise timing and waveform characteristics of these electromagnetic field changes. The lightning monitoring and positioning system operates by deploying multiple DDW1 lightning locator substations, which simultaneously detect the electromagnetic fields radiated by the same lightning strike. The detection data is then transmitted in real-time to the central station via a communication system. The central station uses a homology matching algorithm to identify data from the same lightning event detected by multiple locators. The system then employs the Time-of-Arrival (TOA) method to calculate the precise location and time of the lightning discharge.
