Observation Principle
• Detect low-frequency/very-low-frequency electromagnetic wave signals radiated during the occurrence of lightning, including magnetic field signals and electric field signals.
• Use coils to measure magnetic field variation signals via electromagnetic induction. Measure the magnetic field signal components in the east-west and north-south directions through orthogonal coils, and determine the incoming direction of the magnetic field through the magnitude of the components;
• Use a flat antenna to measure electric field variation signals using the principle of charge induction;
• Use the principle of charge induction to measure electrostatic variation signals.
Functional Features
• The thunderstorm instrument is used to replace manual observation of thunderstorm activities, promoting the automation of meteorological observation methods and the development of meteorological observation modernization.
• Realize automatic observation of thunderstorms, replacing the existing manual observation methods.
• Compared with manual observation, the automatic observation of thunderstorms provides 24-hour outdoor observation around the clock, avoiding the problems of missed points and missed time in manual observation.
• Electronic data, convenient for storage, retrieval and migration.
• Obtain observation elements such as thunderstorm monitoring and warning information, thunderstorm information and thunderstorm cell information.
