The opening tool is a mechanical device used to perforate the hydraulic chamber of a tubing retrievable safety valve. Lowered into the well by cable, the opening tool punch does not require explosives, thus eliminating the possibility of perforating the hydraulic chamber of the tubing retrievable safety valve.
