This expansion aims to strengthen its business presence in the United States and enhance production capacity in the UK. Icomat is renowned for its patented rapid tow shearing technology, also known as fiber shearing technology, which is innovative in the field of composite materials manufacturing.
The new plant in Swindon, UK, spans 40,000 square feet and is equipped with 20 CNC machines, 4 autoclaves, and 2 ply cutting machines, and includes a metrology laboratory. The facility employs a vertically integrated production approach, offering end-to-end services from raw materials to final assembly, capable of producing tools and complex components. Icomat founder Evangelos Zympeloudis stated, "Plant Two removes the constraints of scale; all processes are completed in-house." Managing Director Keith Fairbrass added, "The new plant not only increases processing capacity but also attracts skilled technicians from the industry who are committed to upholding the company's quality values."
The plant in Dayton, USA, is Icomat's first facility outside the UK. Located in Vandalia, it covers 41,000 square feet.
