Wedoany.com Report, On March 16, CNOOC Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the tender for basic design services for its Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) project. This move is a key part of the company's Fractionated Oil Phase VI Project (High-End Functional Materials Project), aiming to leverage existing industrial resources to advance the construction of an integrated refining and chemical base. The project is located on the south side of the Taiping plant area of Daxie Petrochemical in Beilun District, Ningbo City. It plans to build a new 40,000 tons/year UHMWPE unit with an annual production capacity of powder. The design operating time is 8,000 hours, with a flexibility range of 60% to 110%. Raw materials include ethylene, hydrogen, and externally purchased hexane.

According to public information, the total investment for Daxie Petrochemical's Phase VI Project is approximately 10.184 billion yuan, covering multiple high-end material production facilities. Specifically, it includes a 100,000 tons/year polyolefin elastomer unit, a 40,000 tons/year UHMWPE unit, a 150,000 tons/year C4 comprehensive utilization unit (including MTBE/1-butene), and a 300,000 tons/year high-end carbon materials unit (such as needle coke). Regarding project progress: on March 26, 2025, the company signed an investment agreement with the Beilun District government; on August 11 of the same year, it released the procurement plan for energy-saving assessment and acceptance services; on October 17, the polyolefin elastomer project received filing approval; in January 2026, the shortlisted candidates for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract of the C4 comprehensive utilization project were announced, with Shanghai Hetu Engineering Co., Ltd. being the candidate.
