Concurrently, it aims to open up to 20 new IKEA stores globally by September 2027, which is expected to create 500 new jobs.
Ingka stated that simplifying the structure aims to enhance decision-making efficiency and accelerate digital transformation. The store expansion will focus on growth markets in Europe and Asia to offset weakness in offline retail and strengthen its omnichannel presence.
