U.S. Arevon Energy Commences Construction of 250 MW Energy Storage Project in Daly City, California

en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 25th, Arevon Energy has officially commenced construction on the Cormorant Energy Storage Project located in Daly City, California. The project has a capacity of 250 MW / 1,000 MWh, with an investment of $600 million. Once operational in 2027, it is expected to provide up to four hours of continuous power for approximately 321,000 households.Cormorant Energy Storage Project

Under a long-term power purchase agreement with electricity supplier MCE, Arevon will own and operate the Cormorant Energy Storage Project. The project was initially planned for 188 MW / 752 MWh before being expanded to its current scale. MCE provides electricity services to over 1.8 million residents and businesses in Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano counties.

The Cormorant Energy Storage Project will utilize lithium iron phosphate battery technology, with Primoris serving as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. The peak construction period is expected to create approximately 175 jobs.

Arevon currently operates 3.7 GW of renewable energy projects, with an additional 550 MW under construction.
