en.Wedoany.com Report, On March 26, the Tianjin Municipal Development and Reform Commission and the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau jointly issued a notice, officially launching the cultivation and construction of zero-carbon parks citywide. The notice defines phased goals and implementation pathways to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of industrial parks.Image related to zero-carbon park construction in Tianjin

The notice specifies that by 2026, a cultivation and construction mechanism will be established. This includes conducting baseline assessments of energy consumption and carbon emissions for parks, and determining the list of parks to be cultivated and key project lists. By 2028, the pathways for low-carbon transformation are expected to be basically mature. By 2030, the aim is to build more than two national-level zero-carbon parks, cultivate a batch of municipal-level demonstration parks, and comprehensively enhance the low-carbon level of industrial parks.

Parks applying must be legally and compliantly established development zones or related areas in Tianjin with clear boundaries and standardized management, with an annual comprehensive energy consumption exceeding 20,000 tons of standard coal, and no major safety or environmental accidents in the past three years. Each district must submit application materials by May 15. After review and evaluation, the cultivation list will be determined. Subsequent progress will be monitored quarterly and assessed annually to dynamically optimize the cultivation list. Parks that meet the standards will be actively promoted to achieve national-level status, while parks with insufficient progress will be removed from the list.

Tianjin will strengthen overall coordination, technical support, and experience dissemination. It will increase support in terms of policies, funding, essential factors, and finance to create a replicable and scalable "Tianjin experience," providing strong support for achieving the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.
