en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the first China-manufactured Barmac® B9100SE™ vertical shaft impact crusher rolled off the production line at the Tianjin factory of Metso Heavy Industries (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Mr. Liu Hui, General Manager of Metso's Tianjin factory, delivered a total of eight crushing units, including this model, to Power Construction Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as "PowerChina") for its project in Laos, and arranged for immediate shipment. The localization of this vertical shaft impact crusher marks an important milestone in the expansion of Metso's manufacturing capabilities in China.

The equipment delivered this time forms a complete crushing process flow, including a Metso Nordberg® C150™ jaw crusher, an HP500™ cone crusher, an NP15™ impact crusher, and the aforementioned Barmac® B9100SE™ vertical shaft impact crusher. This batch of equipment will serve the construction of a hydropower station in Laos. The cooperation between PowerChina and Metso dates back to the Three Gorges Project. In 1996, PowerChina introduced five Metso Barmac® vertical shaft impact crushers to provide high-quality manufactured sand and aggregates for the Three Gorges construction, making it the first project in China to apply vertical shaft impact crushers.

The B9100SE that rolled off the production line this time is the best-selling model in the Barmac vertical shaft impact crusher series. Metso's Tianjin factory officially launched the Barmac localization project in 2025. Relying on Metso's technology platform and expert support, combined with the factory's own precision manufacturing processes and lean management system, the project team completed the entire process from technology absorption and process tackling to prototype testing. The first vertical shaft impact crusher passed all inspections in one go, meeting high-quality factory standards, further enriching the Tianjin factory's localized product portfolio.

Mr. Liu Hui, General Manager of Metso's Tianjin factory, stated: "Since its establishment in 1997, the Tianjin factory has successfully achieved localized production of crushers across 10 major series and 49 models, with a global delivery record of over 7,000 units. Today, the Tianjin factory possesses the manufacturing capability for Metso's full range of crushers, continuously providing the global mining and aggregates industries with reliable choices 'Made by Metso' and 'Made in Tianjin,' demonstrating the strength of integrating Finnish core technology with China's high-end manufacturing on the international stage." Born in 1978, the Barmac vertical shaft impact crusher is an original design for which Metso holds intellectual property rights and patented technology. Its "rock-on-rock" crushing principle defines the industry's technical benchmark. With nearly half a century of technical heritage and a delivery record of nearly 300 units in China, this vertical shaft impact crusher has proven its capability to produce high-quality aggregates.
