en.Wedoany.com Reported - Climate Fund Managers (CFM) and Ampyr Energy have recently commissioned a 67.5 MWp solar PV plant in Karnataka, India, namely the Somasamudra Phase I project. The solar PV plant adopts an open access model, supplying clean electricity to commercial and industrial customers. It is expected to generate over 118 GWh of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 97,000 tons per year.

This solar PV plant project is the fourth such project delivered by the Ampyr renewable energy platform and is supported by Climate Investor One (CIO). CIO is a blended finance vehicle managed by CFM, with approximately USD 103.8 million in financing provided by the European Union through the Global Gateway initiative.

CFM Investment Director Jirong Lim commented on the solar PV plant: "This project demonstrates the scalability of the platform model in India's C&I renewable energy sector." AMPYR India CEO Rajkumar Roy noted: "The commissioning highlights the company's capability to efficiently deliver renewable energy projects."

The construction of this Karnataka solar PV plant created approximately 250 construction jobs, and it is expected to provide around 45 positions during the operational phase. Currently, Ampyr Energy's total operational and under-construction renewable energy capacity in India has exceeded 500 MW.
