en.Wedoany.com Reported - According to the Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam and India are focusing on promoting cooperation in the agriculture and food sectors, strengthening business connections to develop sustainable supply chains, and striving to increase bilateral trade volume to $25 billion by 2030.

From May 19 to 20, the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (INCHAM), in collaboration with multiple partners, hosted the second "Asia Agri Food International 2026" forum in Ho Chi Minh City. The event featured product exhibitions, business presentations, and trade matching sessions.

A large number of business representatives, policymakers, and experts and scholars from Vietnam, India, and various Southeast Asian countries participated in the forum, focusing on exchanging views on topics such as agricultural trade, food processing, logistics, supply chains, and technological innovation.

INCHAM Chairman Jayprakash Shriram Mishra stated at the forum that against the backdrop of a complex and volatile global economic situation, food security and the construction of sustainable supply chains are becoming strategic priorities for many countries. Based on the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, there is broad scope for cooperation between the two countries in expanding investment cooperation, strengthening agri-food value chain linkages, and deepening business connectivity.

Participating experts noted that Vietnam is a major agricultural export economy in Southeast Asia, while India is a significant global agricultural and food supplier. Combining India's production capacity and technological advantages with Vietnam's dynamic processing and export ecosystem is expected to build a more diversified and sustainable regional supply chain.

Economic expert G. Chandrashekhar stated that Vietnam-India relations are unlocking new cooperation opportunities in areas such as trade, investment, science and technology, logistics, renewable energy, and cross-border services. He analyzed that the trade structures of the two countries are highly complementary: Vietnam mainly exports industrial and high-tech products, while India provides raw materials, agricultural products, and manufactured goods. Dr. Vipra Pandey, a representative from the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that the bilateral cooperative relationship between Vietnam and India is entering a new stage of development. The Indian Consulate General will continue to support business matching, investment promotion, and institutional cooperation, while encouraging enterprises from both countries to strengthen joint ventures and technology sharing, jointly promoting the development of high-value-added processing projects in the agriculture and food sectors.
