en.Wedoany.com Reported - Reverse Logistics Group (RLG), a brand under Reconomy, has joined the European textile circularity network Cibutex. Cibutex is a non-profit organization comprising business-to-business (B2B) textile producers and suppliers, industrial laundry service providers, and recyclers. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Amsterdam, the network currently includes 60 members across the EU and Switzerland, covering corporate textile supply, industrial laundry, and recycling services. Cibutex is also involved with national textile organizations in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and the UK, and holds a permanent representative within the European Textile Services Association (ETSA).

UK-headquartered Reconomy describes RLG as a leading operator managing over 40 Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) and take-back systems across 15 countries, helping global brands navigate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations across jurisdictions. RLG will leverage its regulatory and operational expertise to support Cibutex members, while simultaneously expanding its own network of textile sorters and recycling partners capable of supporting both closed-loop and open-loop recycling solutions through the Cibutex network.

"As one of the world's largest operators of EPR schemes, we are delighted to join Cibutex's network to help producers and suppliers navigate the increasingly complex landscape of textile EPR regulations across Europe," said Steffen Kück, Senior Sales Manager at RLG ECS. "Joining Cibutex will also enhance our market-leading capabilities by expanding our network of sorter and recycler partners. We look forward to working closely with Cibutex and its members to help accelerate the B2B textile industry's transition towards a more circular and sustainable future."

Reconomy stated that this collaboration comes at a time when B2B textiles represent a "sizeable but poorly controlled" material stream, with large volumes placed on the market and withdrawn from use annually, yet the majority still ends up in downcycling, energy recovery, or disposal. This follows a study published by Reconomy on the structural barriers facing B2B textile circularity. The study pointed out that while B2B textiles are often better suited for recycling than business-to-consumer textiles, circular solutions have yet to move beyond the pilot stage due to challenges including insufficient data visibility, fragmented collection systems, and immature end markets.

"We are very pleased to welcome RLG to the Cibutex network," said Hein Barnhoorn, Director of Cibutex. "Given the vision and philosophy behind RLG's operations, its membership is a logical step. As a global business operating in over 80 countries, RLG proves that circular business models can deliver both environmental impact and commercial success. Their long-term goals align perfectly with Cibutex's work to accelerate circularity in the B2B textile industry."
