en.Wedoany.com Reported - Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Utilities (HAU) Energy have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop a 1GW wind farm in the Red Sea Governorate. The wind project, named Ras Shokeir, is located in the Gulf of Suez area, covering approximately 143 square kilometers.

At the signing ceremony, Nayer Fouad, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Infinity Power, and Mona Rizk, Chairperson of EETC, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties, witnessed by senior representatives from the two companies and project partners.

Once operational, the electricity generated by the wind farm is expected to meet the power needs of more than 1.2 million households in Egypt and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 1.36 million tons annually. The project is located in the Gulf of Suez wind corridor, an area with abundant wind resources suitable for large-scale wind power development.

The multi-party collaboration driving this large-scale wind project aims to expand renewable energy capacity and strengthen clean energy infrastructure in Egypt. For Infinity Power, the electricity output from this project contributes to its goal of achieving 10GW of operational renewable energy capacity by 2032.

In the renewable energy sector, HAU Energy and its partners have invested over $3.5 billion (EGP 179.15 billion) in total, with a combined development portfolio of 3.3GW.

Looking back to November 2025, HAU Energy and Infinity Power, together with Egypt's Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and EETC, reached agreements to develop two renewable energy projects, which are expected to provide a combined 1.2GW of solar power capacity and 720MWh of battery energy storage.
