Wedoany.com Report-Jan 27, The Philippines’ DMCI Power Corporation (DPC) said 2024 was a record-breaking year as it delivered 491.2 gigawatt-hours of energy sales, a 9% increase from the previous year.

In a bourse filing, the company said the growth was driven by rising demand in Palawan, Masbate, and Oriental Mindoro, coupled with the full-year operations of its 15 megawatt (MW) Palawan Thermal Power Plant, which began supplying energy to the local community in August 2023.

DPC said this marks its 14th consecutive year of record-breaking performance since it began operations in Masbate in 2010.

In 2025, DPC aims to expand its installed capacity by 27% with 43 MW of projects under development. These include the 12 MW Semirara wind project, its first renewable energy venture set for commercial operations in early 2025.

There is also the 8 MW bunker power plant in Aborlan, Palawan, set for completion in the first quarter of 2025, and another 8 MW bunker power plant in Masbate, expected to be operational by the second quarter.

“We were recently awarded contracts to supply 2 MW in Antique and an additional 15 MW in Palawan. Our ongoing and upcoming projects aim to deliver reliable and efficient energy solutions that support national progress,” said DPC President Antonino Gatdula, Jr.
