The training took place from May 28 to 29, guided by the Digital Transformation Promotion Center of the Nonferrous Metals Industry, co-hosted by the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Nonferrous Metals Industry Talent Center, and organized by Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. (a talent cultivation institution for digital transformation in the nonferrous metals industry). Chen Xuesen, Standing Committee Member and Vice President of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association; Xian Ruping, Deputy Director of the Training Division of the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; and Yang Ping, Party Committee Member, Vice President of Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd., and concurrently Party Secretary and Plant Manager of Danxia Smelter, attended the opening ceremony. Song Kai, Party Secretary and Director of the Nonferrous Metals Industry Talent Center, presided over the ceremony.

In his speech, Chen Xuesen pointed out that the foundation of industrial transformation lies in talent, and the key to digital and intelligent upgrades depends on the workforce. In recent years, the nonferrous metals industry has continuously advanced the construction of smart mines, smart smelting, and digital management systems, steadily improving the level of industrial intelligence. However, issues such as insufficient understanding of digital transformation, shallow technological integration, limited application scenarios, and a shortage of composite professionals remain. He put forward four requirements for this training: raise awareness and recognize the trend, actively embracing digital and intelligent transformation; study diligently and think deeply, comprehensively enhancing professional competence; integrate learning with practice, fully empowering high-quality enterprise development; and exchange insights and collaborate for mutual benefit, consolidating industry synergy for coordinated development.

Xian Ruping stated that, as the lead and deputy lead units of the main cultivation group of the Digital Transformation Promotion Center of the Nonferrous Metals Industry, the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Nonferrous Metals Industry Talent Center have conducted in-depth research on enterprise demand, institutional supply, and service provider offerings, forming a standardized and systematic approach to talent cultivation. By establishing an expert committee for industry digital talent cultivation, promoting the initiation of group standards for core competencies and cultivation requirements of industry digital talent, and selecting the first batch of industry digital transformation talent cultivation institutions, they have steadily advanced foundational work from top-level design to standard guidance and system construction. The two units will continue to deepen cooperation, promoting the deep alignment of digital technology general education with industry talent needs.

Yang Ping introduced the recent digital transformation achievements of Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. The company has recognized that talent capability upgrading is the core support for enterprise transformation implementation. As one of the first batch of industry digital transformation talent cultivation institutions, the company will fully commit to various tasks, contributing to the construction of the industry's digital transformation talent team.

The two-day training covered topics including interpretation of industry digital transformation policies, practical instruction on maturity assessment standards, IT architecture innovation at Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd., digital transformation practices of overseas mines at Northern Mining Co., Ltd., exploration and practice of digital transformation at Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd., digital leapfrog practices in smart factories, top-level planning pathways for smart mines, construction pathways and practical results of the smart factory at Danxia Smelter, and practical insights and application points from the smart factory gradient cultivation initiative. The training also organized visits to the digital transformation demonstration scenarios at Fankou Lead-Zinc Mine and Danxia Smelter for on-site teaching.

The training content closely aligned with the actual needs of the industry, covering top-level policy interpretation and standards, while integrating enterprise implementation practices and technical applications, balancing theoretical depth with practical value. Through centralized learning, on-site observation, and exchange discussions, participants gained a close-up understanding of the practical effects of digital technology in mining and factory production, further clarifying the ideas and directions for enterprise digital transformation.

More than 100 participants from over 60 enterprises across major nonferrous metals industry clusters nationwide attended the training, covering the entire industrial chain of mining, beneficiation, smelting, rare and precious metal new materials, resource recycling, and digital technology services.
