en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chinese wireless communication module provider Fibocom showcased a suite of AI-powered intelligent connectivity solutions on June 2 at Computex 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan, under the theme "Intelligent Connectivity Powered by AI." The exhibition covered on-device AI, AIoT applications, 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and mobile broadband. Among the highlights, the Fibocom ClawBox, AI Meeting Assistant, All-in-One AI CPE, and a next-generation 5G Dongle jointly developed with Luxshare Precision formed the core product portfolio targeting edge intelligent devices and industry connectivity scenarios.

The key focus of Fibocom's demonstration was extending wireless communication module capabilities further into the device layer, integrating "connectivity + local computing + AI applications." As AI continues to shift from cloud-based model invocation to terminal devices, robots, in-vehicle equipment, retail terminals, conference systems, and home gateways, the market demands on traditional communication module vendors have evolved. Customers now require not only cellular connectivity, positioning, data transmission, and global network adaptation but also local inference, real-time interaction, low-latency decision-making, and localized data processing on terminal devices. The Fibocom ClawBox adopts a CPU, GPU, and NPU architecture, with official disclosure of AI computing power reaching up to 18 TOPS. It supports the OpenClaw and Hermes Agent frameworks, providing local AI processing capabilities for scenarios such as robotics, transportation, and intelligent security. The AI Meeting Assistant combines edge AI computing with voice AI for transcription, multi-dialect recognition, and meeting minutes generation, targeting data-sensitive industries to reduce reliance on external cloud processing for meeting audio and text content. For enterprise customers, such on-device AI solutions can shift some intelligent processing to the local edge, lowering network latency and data transmission pressure while maintaining basic intelligent capabilities in unstable network conditions or high-privacy scenarios.

In terms of 5G connectivity products, Fibocom and Luxshare Precision jointly launched a next-generation 5G Dongle solution at Computex 2026, supporting global 5G, plug-and-play connectivity, and flexible SIM configurations.

From the perspective of the information and communication industry chain, the integration of on-device AI and 5G connectivity is reshaping the product boundaries of wireless module companies. Previously, module vendors primarily played a foundational role in "connecting devices to cellular networks," with value concentrated in RF design, operator certification, global band adaptation, low power consumption, and stable connectivity. Now, AIoT devices need to perform more tasks locally, such as service robots requiring environmental perception and voice interaction, smart retail terminals needing product recognition and transaction analysis, pet tracking devices balancing low-power positioning and long-term connectivity, and smart lawnmowers handling visual recognition, precise positioning, path planning, obstacle avoidance, and automatic recharging. Fibocom's showcased AI Companion, smart lawnmower, smart retail, and pet tracking solutions demonstrate that communication modules are transitioning from single hardware components to scenario-based solution gateways. The All-in-One AI CPE integrates high-speed connectivity with local AI processing into broadband access devices, helping upgrade network equipment in homes, stores, small offices, and edge sites into intelligent front-end nodes. As demand for on-device AI, 5G FWA, and mobile broadband converges, competition among module vendors will expand from connectivity specifications to computing power integration, application frameworks, industry solutions, data security, and global delivery capabilities.

Fibocom stated that it will continue leveraging its capabilities in wireless communication, AI, and global connectivity services to drive the evolution of devices from "connected" to "intelligent connectivity systems." Future variables will focus on the mass production costs of on-device AI devices, deployment pace among industry customers, global certification progress for 5G Dongles and AI CPEs, and whether local AI processing can generate stable commercial demand in scenarios such as robotics, transportation, security, retail, and mobile office.
