Wedoany.com Report-Feb 22, Acciona Energia has completed the installation of all wind turbines at the 280MW Forty Mile wind project in Canada.

The project , located in Bow Island, Alberta, is one of the 10 largest wind farms in Canada.

It features 49 Nordex wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7MW and a tower height of 108 metres.

Acciona Energia has already connected 14 of the 49 turbines that make up the park to the grid.

With a total installed capacity of 280MW, the project is the largest of its kind that Acciona Energia has built to date in North America.

Once the entire park is up and running, it will generate enough clean energy to power more than 85,000 homes.

Acciona Energia said a team of more than 250 workers has worked in extreme weather conditions, with temperatures as low as -20°F/-29°C, to advance the construction of the park and complete it safely.

The implementation of specialised safety protocols, including a work plan for the winter, has been critical to reaching this milestone, the company said.

The connection of the remaining turbines is still underway and the wind farm is expected to be fully operational this spring.
