en.Wedoany.com Reported - WA Gold (ASX:WAU) has identified multiple high-priority gold targets at its Bullabulling Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, with a major drilling campaign set to commence.
The Bullabulling Project is adjacent to Minerals 260's (ASX:MI6) 4.5-million-ounce Bullabulling Gold Mine, and the area is considered to host potential repetitions and/or extensions of this gold mineralization along a north-trending structural corridor.
WA Gold has engaged Perth-based geophysical consultancy Resource Potentials (Respot) to conduct an integrated data processing study and review the project's tenements to generate prioritized, drill-ready targets.
Several promising gold targets have been delineated in the Bullabulling West, North, and East areas.
Interpretation of aeromagnetic data indicates that the Bullabulling Shear Zone extends northward under relatively thin sedimentary cover into the company's Bullabulling North area, hosting Minerals 260's main Bullabulling gold deposit.
Drilling is scheduled to commence this month at Bullabulling North, with initial targets and access roads currently being verified.
"WA Gold is highly focused on delivering returns to shareholders through a portfolio of mineral assets at various stages of development," said CEO Ben Pollard.
He noted that as the company's Abercromby gold deposit in the Yilgarn region of northern Western Australia moves into the development phase, the Bullabulling Project offers a "advanced exploration opportunity with significant exploration potential."
Pollard stated that previous drilling left significant gaps in key gold-bearing structures beneath the cover (loose material).
He also said, "Our Invincible and South Boddington projects provide additional gold discovery upside on early-stage projects." The company is well-funded to support ongoing exploration at Bullabulling. "We look forward to delivering results as we delve deeper into this prolific gold mineralized area."
Respot's detailed geophysical review highlighted the continuity of the Bullabulling Shear Zone extending northward from the mine into the company's tenements, along with the potential for interaction with the Geko gold deposit further north.
The review noted that north-south trending structural features are marked by subtle changes in "geophysical signatures and stratigraphic attitudes" on east-west gradients, with this inflection zone interpreted as the Bullabulling Shear Zone.
Alluvial cover fills this structural position, hindering previous explorers from testing the gold potential of the Archean basement.
WA Gold noted the discovery of bottom-of-hole gold anomalism in drill hole BBRX1586, with assay results returning 5 meters at 0.12 g/t on the northwestern margin of the preferred Bullabulling Shear Zone target.
Respot's interpretation of the western and southern margins of extensive ultramafic bodies within the company's tenements is also highly positive, based on interpreted shearing along geological contacts and domain boundaries, coinciding with extensive historical surface and drill geochemical anomalies.
These results position this stratigraphic and structural setting as a high-priority gold target trend for renewed exploration efforts. In the south, the sheared horizon along the ultramafic body converges and merges with the Bullabulling Shear Zone.
In Bullabulling West, discrete anomalous zones define a third major focus area for follow-up gold exploration, with these same geophysical anomalous horizons hosting historical gold mining sites in the area.
The company plans a phased approach to investigate the newly identified gold targets, combining drilling, geochemical infill sampling, and Sub-Audio Magnetic (SAM) surveys.
In June, WA Gold will implement a program combining air-core and reverse circulation drilling to test geological and geochemical targets. The company also plans to conduct SAM geophysical surveys covering the interpreted extension of the Bullabulling Shear Zone into its tenements.
The SAM survey will identify shear-hosted gold mineralized structures by mapping lithological variations and structural trends beneath the cover, with further targeted drilling designed to test priority anomalies for gold mineralization once completed.
The company has submitted additional work programs to advance drilling into 2026 and beyond.
