Wedoany.com Report-Oct 23, This facility, the first in the Greater Atlanta area, is set to annually redirect close to 227,000t of waste from local landfills. It is the third RNG facility under development by the company.

The plant's anaerobic digestion technology is designed to produce RNG while concurrently reducing atmospheric CO₂ and methane emissions by thousands of tonnes each year.

The proximity of the facility to food and beverage manufacturers will decrease the distance required to transport pre-consumer waste, thereby reducing costs and emissions for these customers, the company said.

Synthica Energy co-founder and chief development officer Grant Gibson said: “At Synthica Energy, sustainability is so much more than the business of converting organic waste into renewable natural gas.
