en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ningxia Yongli 300MW/600MWh energy storage project, EPC contracted by the Shaanxi Institute of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd., was recently successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. This is the supporting energy storage project for the largest single photovoltaic base project in China.

This project is one of the core projects of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" for large-scale clean energy bases in the "Gobi Desert" regions. Located in Shapotou District, Zhongwei City, Ningxia, it serves as the supporting energy storage project for the Ningxia Zhongwei 3GW photovoltaic base, the largest single photovoltaic base project in China. The project is divided into three energy storage power stations: #1, #2, and #3. Each station has a uniform construction scale of 100MW/200MWh, with a total installed capacity of 300MW/600MWh.

After the project is put into operation, it is expected to annually support the consumption of over 450 million kWh of photovoltaic power generation and achieve a reduction of approximately 375,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. It can effectively smooth out the volatility and intermittency of new energy generation, enhancing the regional capacity for new energy consumption. The commissioning of this project will provide support for optimizing Ningxia's energy layout, promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, and improving the regional ecological environment. It will also play a driving role in accelerating the green energy transition in the region and implementing the "dual carbon" strategy.
