India's Jupiter Wagons Secures Two 302.5MWh Energy Storage Projects
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, India's Jupiter Wagons, through its energy business JEM Energy, secured a 41MW/102.5MWh standalone battery energy storage system project in Uttarakhand and received a formal letter of award for another 50MW/200MWh project in West Bengal. The two projects have a combined energy storage capacity of 302.5MWh.

The Uttarakhand project was procured by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited. JEM Energy, in partnership with Madhav Infra Projects, participated in a tariff-based competitive bidding process and emerged as the lowest bidder for Cluster C. The project scope includes the supply and commissioning of the battery energy storage system, with the corresponding equipment and implementation scale valued at approximately INR 1 billion.
The West Bengal project was awarded by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, with the construction site located at the Jeerat 132kV substation in North 24 Parganas district. The project obtained project qualification in August 2026 and has now received the formal letter of award. The energy storage system is designed with a 4-hour continuous discharge configuration.
JEM Energy has already established a containerized battery energy storage product lineup, with existing systems covering 10-foot and 20-foot specifications, and has built a cell-to-battery-system production line. The company's disclosed standardized product capacities range from 241kWh to 3MWh, suitable for commercial and industrial energy storage, renewable energy co-located storage, and grid-scale applications.
