This SPA extends the cooperation between the two companies, which began with the first LNG supply agreement signed in 2025.

Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Downstream Industry, Marketing and Trading at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, said the agreement builds on the first LNG supply agreement with Gulf Group and further demonstrates ADNOC's commitment to ensuring reliable energy supply for customers in Thailand and Asia.

Sarath Ratanavadi, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Development Public Company Limited, said that by securing midstream infrastructure, transportation capacity and partnerships with leading suppliers, the company is strengthening every link in the value chain.

According to Gulf Group, its wholly-owned subsidiary Gulf LNG began importing LNG for power generation in January 2025 under a purchase agreement signed with ADNOC Trading. The company holds a license issued by Thailand's Energy Regulatory Commission to import up to 6.4 million tonnes of LNG per year.

The deal was executed through ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform established in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Launched in July 2026, the platform aims to consolidate LNG marketing and trading operations in one place. The first long-term agreement announced after the platform's launch was a 15-year SPA with Japan's INPEX (International Petroleum Exploration and Production), supplying 1 million tonnes per annum (1 mtpa), sourced from the Ruwais LNG project.

The trading arm has offices in Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Geneva, and has built a third-party LNG portfolio within four years. The platform targets 47 million tonnes per annum (47 mtpa) of marketable LNG by 2035.
