en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 3, with the oil tanker "Beihai Kaituo" successfully completing its 53rd oil offloading operation, the Liuhua Oilfield secondary development project—China's first deepwater oilfield—achieved a cumulative production and export of over 2 million tons of crude oil. This marks that China's pioneering new development model of "deepwater jacket platform + cylindrical FPSO" has successfully withstood the test of continuous production in real-world operations, providing a replicable practical example for the profitable development and production enhancement of complex deepwater oil reservoirs.

The Liuhua Oilfield is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin of the South China Sea, with an average water depth of approximately 305 meters. The project relies on the collaborative operation of Asia's first cylindrical Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit "Hai Kui Yi Hao," Asia's deepest deepwater jacket platform "Hai Ji Er Hao," and subsea production systems, building a full-process deepwater production chain of "subsea oil extraction—platform pretreatment—FPSO deep processing, storage, and export," achieving full independent controllability. Currently, the project has put 32 production wells into operation, with a peak daily crude oil output of 3,900 tons.

In response to the extremely high difficulty of developing the deepwater reef limestone reservoir in the Liuhua Oilfield, the research team underwent ten years of technological research and development, innovatively introducing core improvement measures such as "screen-blind combination and intelligent compartmentalization," and explored and formed a set of oil stabilization and water control technology systems. This system has significantly reduced the comprehensive water cut of development wells, extending the oilfield's production life by 30 years. At the same time, in the face of harsh sea conditions in the South China Sea, the production team, relying on digital twin and integrated sea-land intelligent central control systems, achieved an upgrade in safety management from "human defense" to "intelligent defense," and innovatively adopted a "dual export points + dual stern towing" model, installing China's first bow loading system on the supporting oil offloading tanker, maintaining the utilization rate of the annual export operation window at over 90%, ensuring the safe and stable export of the entire deep-sea oil and gas chain.
