BP Appoints Ben Monaghan to Lead Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 29, BP confirmed the appointment of Ben Monaghan as Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development, with plans for him to take up the role in early 2027. Monaghan is currently a partner at the strategic advisory group of investment bank PJT Partners, where he is primarily responsible for the global energy industry and energy transactions.

Monaghan previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Genel Energy, which focuses on operations in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and worked at JPMorgan for about 20 years, where he was responsible for energy investment banking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. BP's former head of mergers and acquisitions, Sam Skerry, had been responsible for the related work since 2022 and transferred to head of supply, trading and shipping in August this year.

This personnel adjustment comes as BP continues to advance the optimization of its asset portfolio. After taking office in April this year, BP Chief Executive Officer Meg O'Neill made investment discipline, profitability, cash generation and market returns the priorities of capital allocation, while the company continues to push forward with asset sales.
