en.Wedoany.com Reported - Peru's Minister of Energy and Mines, Waldir Ayasta Mechán, announced that a government delegation will attend the International Mining and Resources Conference IMARC 2026, to be held from October 25 to 29 in Sydney, Australia.

The decision was announced following a high-level meeting with the Australia-Peru Chamber of Commerce (APCCI), led by its President Carlos Castro, who commended the Peruvian government's proactive efforts to promote the country's mining sector at this international summit. Ayasta Mechán emphasized the need for strengthened cooperation between the public and private sectors to consolidate Peru's position as an attractive business partner in the global mining industry.

Castro stated that both sides need to jointly develop strategies to better leverage the positive impacts of mining and explore how this event can drive development in other productive sectors.

IMARC 2026 is a major event bringing together global investors, leading mining companies, business partners from the Asia-Pacific region, specialized suppliers, and government representatives from over 120 countries.

Also attending the meeting were Gaby Yulisa Julca, Director of Mining Promotion and Sustainable Development at Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM); Milka Vilca, Director of Mining Promotion; and Solange Blotte, Executive Director of APCCI.

Peru's participation in this conference holds special significance as the country consolidates its position as the world's second-largest producer of tin and maintains global leadership in copper, silver, and zinc—mineral resources crucial for the energy transition and clean technology development.

The conference agenda covers topics such as automation, artificial intelligence in mining operations, decarbonization, electrification, sustainability, and operational safety, which are considered key areas for the future development of the global mining industry.
