en.Wedoany.com Reported - Microsoft emphasized that the core advantage of its AI agent collaboration tool, Copilot Cowork, lies in its ability to understand the Microsoft 365 (M365) work context.

Copilot Cowork is a tool that enables humans and AI agents to collaborate within the same workflow. It not only answers questions but also allows agents to execute multi-step, complex tasks sequentially. For example, after issuing an instruction to write a report, the system can automatically handle processes such as collecting relevant materials, drafting, and requesting reviews. Workflows validated in business operations can be saved as "Cowork Skills," reusable by anyone in the team.

Oh Sung-mi (오성미), Director of the AI Workforce GTM at Microsoft Korea, stated at a press conference held on the 15th at The K-Twin Towers in Jongno-gu, Seoul, that the fundamental difference between Copilot Cowork and competing services like Google Workspace (Gemini), Slack AI, and Salesforce Agentforce lies in its deep grasp of work data. Oh explained that for an AI agent to work like a human, it must understand its environment, including the meetings it attends, team composition within the organizational structure, frequently collaborating teams, chat and email exchanges, and documents written. As M365 is the umbrella term for office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive, Copilot Cowork can automatically retrieve existing work data from them without requiring users to perform additional operations or explain relationships one by one. Oh emphasized that work context exists not only within a file but also in the processes of file modification, discussion, and decision changes, and that obtaining data from other vendors solely through API interfaces has limitations.

Copilot Cowork supports both iOS and Android mobile versions and can build custom plugins tailored to organizations. Agent deployment and security control in enterprise environments are managed by "Microsoft Agent 365."

Microsoft also released its annual report, the "2026 Work Trend Index," on the same day. Based on a survey of 20,000 knowledge workers across 10 countries and analysis of trillions of data points on M365 productivity, the report pointed out that the failure of AI adoption to translate into tangible results is due to the "Transformation Paradox," where individual readiness for AI use is high, but organizational evaluation systems, incentives, and operational methods fail to provide support. In Korea, this gap is particularly pronounced: 78% of respondents felt a sense of urgency that "if they cannot adapt quickly, they will be left behind," while only 16% indicated alignment with management on AI strategy direction. The report emphasized that an organization's competitiveness depends on the "speed of absorption" rather than the speed of AI adoption, and companies with a "learning system" that can diffuse AI usage know-how accumulated on the ground throughout the organization and reflect it in operations will gain a hard-to-imitate "organizational unique intelligence."
