en.Wedoany.com Reported - Benz Mining Corp (ASX: BNZ, TSXV: BZ) has confirmed that preliminary cyanide leach test results from the Icon deposit at its Glenburgh Gold Project in Western Australia indicate the gold is free-milling, achieving high recoveries and low reagent consumption across all tested grade ranges.

Benz CEO Mark Lynch-Staunton stated that high-grade Icon core achieved approximately 95.5% gold extraction within 24 hours, while low-grade material also demonstrated excellent leach performance. Material with grades as low as approximately 0.10 g/t yielded extremely low final tailings grades after leaching, indicating incremental recoverable gold opportunities surrounding high-grade zones. These results support the potential for the overall Icon mineralized halo to contribute recoverable gold, aiding future open-pit optimization studies for the Glenburgh project.

The preliminary metallurgical test program covered high-grade core, medium-grade mineralization, and the broader mineralized halo. Samples were ground to a nominal P80 of 75 microns, using conventional gravity concentration and cyanide leaching processes. Gold extraction was typically completed within 8 to 24 hours, with rapid leach kinetics supporting a conventional cyanide leach process route. Average calculated head grades and gold extraction values were derived from laboratory-calculated head grades, with gold recovery calculated based on each sample's calculated head grade. These results are preliminary laboratory-scale results and do not represent plant-scale recoveries.

Benz plans to conduct further metallurgical work, including repeat and confirmatory cyanide leach tests on selected samples, additional tests across the broader Icon mineralized halo and high-grade core zones, evaluation of grind sensitivity and leach kinetics, assessment of gravity recovery and cyanide response by material type, and integration of metallurgical results with geological modeling, geotechnical engineering, and future open-pit studies.

Currently, Benz is increasing drilling activity at the Glenburgh gold system, reaching 12 productive RC drill shifts at the Hurricane, Icon, and Thunderbolt deposits. A diamond drill rig has been mobilized to support metallurgical, geotechnical, and orebody understanding work.

The Glenburgh Gold Project is located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, featuring an 18 to 20-kilometer-long mineralized corridor centered on the Icon-Apollo mineralized zone and the Zone 126 system.
