en.Wedoany.com Reported - Emirates has announced the addition of four weekly flights between Dubai and Accra, Ghana, starting July 12, 2026, increasing its capacity to and from Ghana to 11 flights per week.

The new flights will complement the airline's existing daily operations, aiming to meet the sustained high demand and load factors on this route throughout the year.

The new flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Flight EK789 departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 03:30 local time, arriving at Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra at 07:40 local time; the return flight EK790 departs Accra at 10:25, arriving back in Dubai at 22:40. This schedule is designed to provide connecting options for passengers traveling from Accra to destinations such as Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York, and Jeddah, as well as for passengers traveling to Accra from Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles, and multiple gateway cities in Germany and the United Kingdom, via Dubai.

Salem Almana, Emirates' Country Manager for Ghana, stated that this expansion reflects the airline's confidence in this market. He noted that for over two decades, Emirates has been committed to connecting Ghana with the world, and this frequency increase will provide greater convenience for customers while strengthening commercial, tourism, and trade ties between Ghana and key markets in its global network. Each of the 11 weekly flights offers 8 First Class private suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats, and 304 Economy Class seats.

The additional flights will also increase bellyhold capacity through Emirates SkyCargo, supporting cargo transportation. The airline currently transports fresh fruit from Ghana to European destinations such as Prague and Zurich, as well as electronics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. The increased capacity will help Ghanaian businesses connect more easily with global customers. Tickets are now available for purchase via emirates.com, the Emirates App, and travel agencies.
