en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and MahaGenco Renewable Energy Limited (MahaGenco REL) have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop renewable energy projects and emerging clean energy technologies in Maharashtra and other parts of India. The MoU was signed by Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director of Power Systems at SECI, and Abhay Harne, Project Director at MAHAGENCO, in the presence of Akash Tripathi, Managing Director of SECI, and senior officials from both organizations.

MahaGenco REL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO). Under the cooperation agreement, both parties will jointly advance multiple clean energy initiatives, covering Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects, Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy solutions, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Pumped Storage Projects (PSP), green hydrogen and green ammonia production, as well as power trading activities and project monitoring consulting services.

This collaboration is expected to support the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure and promote the adoption of advanced clean energy technologies. Under the terms of the agreement, the potential project scale could reach 5 GW. By integrating SECI's expertise in renewable energy development and power trading with MahaGenco REL's project execution capabilities, both parties aim to accelerate India's clean energy transition and contribute to the country's long-term sustainable development goals and net-zero emission commitments.
