en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nordic data center company Polarnode has sold a data center development site in Pori, Finland, to an undisclosed European data center operator.
The site covers 26 hectares, has legally valid zoning and building permits, and has secured grid capacity access. The terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed.
"We are delighted to have found a strong partner for the Pori site. This transaction reflects the quality of our team's efforts in developing fully permitted, grid-ready assets, and we look forward to seeing the project move into the design and delivery phase," said Mikko Toivanen, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Polarnode.
Polarnode was founded a year ago and announced plans in May 2025 to build a 100MW campus in Pori, with the land owned by the municipality. The company is also advancing a 30MW campus project in the Juhansuo district of Nokia, Finland, and developing a 40MW project in Heinola. Polarnode is developing a campus for European AI cloud company Nebius in Lappeenranta, which could exceed 300MW in capacity when fully built out.
Last month, Polarnode announced plans to build a data center in Keminmaa, covering 109 hectares with a capacity of 500MW, expected to be operational in 2028. The company also plans to build a 250MW project in Kuopio, also slated for commissioning in 2028.
Savills and Augusta & Co served as financial advisors to Polarnode on the transaction, assisting the company in identifying the partner and structuring the deal. Real estate development company CompassForge Ventures announced plans last year to build a 150MW project in Pori, with the site subsequently acquired by ASP DC. Glesys operates two data centers in Pori, which were acquired from Verne last year.
