en.Wedoany.com Reported - Anthropic released Claude Tag on Tuesday, a new product that embeds its most advanced AI model directly into Slack, functioning as a persistent, shared team member that any team member can delegate tasks to by typing @Claude.

The product is available in beta to Claude Enterprise and Team customers, replacing the existing Claude app for Slack. This marks Anthropic's most significant move yet in enterprise collaboration. Claude Tag is not a chatbot or coding assistant, but an AI agent capable of building memory, taking proactive actions, working asynchronously, and interacting with everyone in a channel. Anthropic stated that 65% of its own product team's code was created by an internal version of Claude Tag, and the company also runs internal support and data insight channels through the same system.

The product runs on Claude Opus 4.8, which saw its agentic coding score jump from 64.3% to 69.2% and its knowledge work score increase from 1753 to 1890. It works by having administrators pair it with a Slack workspace, grant tool and data source access, set token consumption limits, and define channels. Channel members can make requests via @Claude, which then breaks down and executes tasks. Four key capabilities distinguish it from integrations: multi-player mode, where a single Claude interacts with everyone in the channel; learning over time, accumulating context without reporting from private channels; proactive monitoring and follow-up on unresolved threads; and asynchronous work, autonomously handling tasks that take hours.

Enterprise security controls are central to the design. Administrators can define separate Claude identities for different purposes, restrict them to specific channels, keep all content including memory within those boundaries, set token consumption limits, and view complete action logs. Migration from the existing app requires administrators to opt in within 30 days, and Anthropic will issue startup credits to eligible organizations.

Claude Tag's launch comes as Slack has become the most competitive arena for enterprise AI. Salesforce added over 30 features to Slackbot in March, OpenAI launched workspace agents in April, Perplexity introduced enterprise agents integrated with Slack, Cognition's Devin uses Slack as its primary interface, and Microsoft also brought GitHub Copilot to Teams. The average enterprise manages over 1,000 applications, with context switching reducing productivity by up to 40%.

Anthropic first integrated Claude with Slack in October 2025, then expanded in January 2026. Since then, the company has built enterprise infrastructure, including bundling Claude Code into enterprise plans, launching Claude Managed Agents with early adopters including Notion, Rakuten, Asana, and Sentry, and releasing Claude Opus 4.8. Claude Tag integrates all these capabilities. In late May, Anthropic raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation, with an annualized revenue exceeding $470 billion. Claude Code's annualized revenue has surpassed $2.5 billion. Deloitte has deployed Claude across over 470,000 employees in 150 countries.

Enterprise buyers need to assess several risks: significantly increased vendor dependency, as Claude accumulating context becomes difficult to replace; the proactive behavior pattern of environmental monitoring imposes new requirements on governance frameworks; pricing based on token consumption, with detailed plans yet to be announced, and the usage patterns of continuously monitoring agents differ from traditional AI; in terms of reliability, downtime is more costly for an always-on team member. Anthropic stated its goal is to extend Claude Tag beyond Slack to cover collaboration surfaces such as Microsoft Teams and email.
