en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian digital infrastructure operator NICNET has announced plans for its third data center unit, which will adopt the SmartEdge "Data Center In a Box" modular solution launched by Trusted Data, marking a significant shift in the company's expansion model.

NICNET has previously opened two edge data centers in Cravinhos and São Carlos, located in the interior of São Paulo state. These facilities, developed in partnership with Trusted Data, have strengthened the digital ecosystem in the Ribeirão Preto region by providing cloud, colocation, backup, disaster recovery, and low-latency services. The new project will utilize the SmartEdge series, a scalable industrialized modular solution capable of bringing new critical environments into operation within 45 days, aiming to significantly reduce deployment time.

Roberto Amoroso, founder and CEO of NICNET, stated that the new model directly meets the market's demand for speed, enabling rapid growth while maintaining availability, operational control, and customer connectivity.

The new data center will follow the edge computing concept to support critical applications. Felipe Garanhani Cezar, CEO of Trusted Data, noted that the market requires speed, scalability, and predictability, and the SmartEdge solution allows providers, operators, industries, and governments to deploy critical infrastructure within weeks.

This model integrates redundant power infrastructure, precision air conditioning, fire suppression systems, monitoring, physical security, and other architectures prepared for high-availability environments. In addition to the telecommunications and ISP sectors, this solution has also attracted interest from agribusiness, industrial, retail, healthcare, and government projects.

NICNET's actions reflect the trend of regionalization in Brazil's digital infrastructure and the development direction of distributed edge data centers as the foundation for cloud, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart cities, and business continuity.
