en.Wedoany.com Reported - The green and low-carbon energy medium supply project of Jingjiang Special Steel Co., Ltd., contracted by China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., has achieved full-capacity grid connection and overall operation of its photovoltaic area.

This project is part of the national low-carbon metallurgy technology pilot project, the "Near-Zero Carbon Emission Electric Furnace Demonstration Project." Located within the plant of Jingjiang Special Steel Co., Ltd. in Jingjiang City, Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, the project is equipped with 27 MW of centralized photovoltaic power, 120 MW/240 MWh of grid-forming energy storage, and reserves capacity for three 6.25 MW onshore wind turbines. It also integrates the existing 16.8 MW onshore wind power system within the plant area and is accompanied by a source-grid-load-storage carbon management platform. This project is the supporting source-grid-load-storage integrated engineering for China's first national-level electric arc furnace short-process steelmaking demonstration project.

After operation, the project is expected to provide approximately 70 million kWh of green electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by 60,000 tons. It will establish a smart energy consumption model of "new energy priority—energy storage regulation—grid supplementation," supplying green power to the near-zero carbon emission electric arc furnace steelmaking demonstration line and accumulating replicable and scalable practical experience for the low-carbon transformation of the steel industry.
