Russia's Chukotka Gold Output Reaches 8.6 Tons in First Five Months, Up 21% Year-on-Year

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gold production in Russia's Chukotka Autonomous Okrug reached 8.6 tons in the first five months of this year, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year.

As of June 1, 2026, six mining enterprises were engaged in ore gold extraction in the region, including Chukotka Mining and Geological Company (АО «Чукотская горно-геологическая компания»), Valunisty Mine LLC (ООО «Рудник Валунистый»), Kanchalano-Amguema Area LLC (ООО «Канчалано-Амгуэмская площадь»), Base Metals JSC (АО «Базовые металлы», part of the Arel Group), Karalveem Mine OJSC (ОАО «Рудник Каральвеем», under Gold Projects Management Company (УК «Золотые проекты»)), and Mayskoye Gold Mine LLC (ООО ЗК «Майское», a subsidiary of Polymetal (АО «Полиметалл»)).

In terms of total output, enterprises under the Arel Group contributed 70% of the region's gold production. According to a report from the regional industrial department to NEDRADV, the Karalveem Mine produced 636.2 kg of precious metals, while the Mayskoye Mine produced 1,958.7 kg. Silver output in the first five months of this year amounted to 30 tons.

For reference, in 2025, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug's total gold production was 24.5 tons, and silver output was 113 tons.
