en.Wedoany.com Reported - Circular chemicals producer Encina Development Group LLC and BASF have recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to support Encina's planned circular chemicals production facility on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Under the agreement, BASF will provide strategic advisory services to Encina during key project development phases (up to the final investment decision), including recommendations on procurement strategies and project execution planning. Additionally, the agreement grants BASF the right to co-participate in future project development with Encina, which may involve potential equity investments.
This agreement builds on a previously announced long-term supply agreement involving circular benzene chemically recovered from waste streams. BASF plans to use these circular feedstocks in its Ccycled® product portfolio.
Encina employs proprietary catalytic conversion technology to transform waste streams that would otherwise be landfilled or incinerated into circular products for use in existing manufacturing supply chains. The company's products are designed as plug-and-play circular feedstocks to support decarbonization and circular economy goals across multiple industries.
In addition to supporting Encina's first commercial-scale project on the U.S. Gulf Coast, the agreement establishes a framework for evaluating future collaboration opportunities on other projects in international markets.
