en.Wedoany.com Reported - In-ho Oh, Managing Director of the Solutions Engineering Department for Southeast Asia and South Korea, announced at the Zoom Innovation Media Education Session held in Seoul on the 30th that AI features have been applied to the Zoom Node hybrid platform, enabling customers to securely use AI-powered captions and transcription within their own data centers or private clouds.
Previously, converting meeting content into captions or text transcripts typically required sending voice data to an external cloud. Now, with Zoom Node, AI-based captions and transcription can be securely used even within a customer's data center or private cloud. Zoom Node is a hybrid platform installed within a customer's data center or private cloud. Service deployment, management, reporting, and issue resolution are controlled by the Zoom cloud, but the actual processing of certain features, such as captions and transcription, takes place on the Zoom Node installed on the customer's premises.

Zoom Node features a modular design, allowing enterprises to select and install only the services they need, with each Zoom Node supporting up to four service modules. Zoom began applying AI to Zoom Node last week, with AI prioritized for captions and transcription features. Zoom Node customers can bring the processing of displaying spoken words as captions and recording conversations as text transcripts into their own data centers. Supported languages include English, French, German, and Swedish, with plans to expand language support in the future.
In-ho Oh stated that applying AI to Zoom Node is significant for organizations with high security requirements, such as those in finance, public sector, healthcare, and manufacturing, as enterprises handling sensitive conversations can process features like speech recognition within their own data centers or private clouds rather than external clouds. He emphasized that the widely used meeting summary feature is on the roadmap for future application on Zoom Node, marking the arrival of an era where AI can be used without sending sensitive meeting data to external clouds.
Chae-kyun Kim, General Manager of Zoom Korea, stated that the company aims to achieve double-digit growth in domestic business this year, is currently focused on expanding the Zoom Phone customer base, and that enterprise interest is rising. He cited Korean Air as a representative customer case for Zoom Phone in South Korea and said that to further increase the adoption of Zoom Phone, the company will strengthen sales and partner collaboration.
Zoom is expanding its partner and distribution channels in the South Korean market. Following Etybus EPA joining as a partner last year, Uclick has joined as a new partner this year, responsible for supplying the Zoom collaboration platform to South Korean enterprises and managing partner channels. Zoom is also securing additional partners for collaboration in Zoom Phone services and contact center areas.
Chae-kyun Kim stated that Zoom will strengthen its partner-centric business structure in the South Korean market, plans to launch a Managed Service Provider (MSP) program domestically, and is currently in discussions with several large enterprises.
