en.Wedoany.com Reported - du has deployed the world's first commercial 5G-Advanced (5G-A) service in the L-band (1.4 GHz), aiming to enhance spectrum efficiency, network capacity, and the consistency and reliability of customer experience.

With its superior radio propagation characteristics, the L-band can balance wide-area coverage and network capacity. Signals can penetrate deeper indoors, while stronger radio signals travel farther outdoors, helping to bridge coverage gaps.

Favorable propagation characteristics enable deeper indoor penetration and stronger signal consistency over a wider geographic area, helping to reduce coverage gaps in dense urban, suburban, and indoor environments.

This deployment will bring emerging use cases for du, covering enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), massive IoT, and digital services powered by artificial intelligence. It complements the operator's 5G-Advanced platform for supporting services such as Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) and massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC).

Saleem AlBlooshi, Chief Technology Officer of du, stated that the company is committed to setting new benchmarks in network quality and service excellence. The successful deployment of 5G-Advanced services is a global first that du is proud of and a testament to the ingenuity of the network team. The L-band spectrum plan reflects the company's commitment to innovation and its ongoing determination to maximize spectrum resources and deliver an exceptional connectivity experience to customers.

du emphasized that this achievement was made possible with the support of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
