en.Wedoany.com Reported - SYSTRA has established a new subsidiary, SYSTRA Vietnam, in Vietnam to further engage in the country's metro and high-speed rail projects, capitalizing on the momentum of accelerated local infrastructure investment.

SYSTRA has been deeply rooted in Vietnam for over two decades, participating in key urban network projects. In Hanoi, the group has supported the capital's metro since 2007, with the elevated section of Line 3 opening in 2024 and the underground section (Cau Giay to Hanoi Station) still under development. In Ho Chi Minh City, SYSTRA contributed to the design of the elevated section and stations of Line 1, which opened at the end of 2024.
This long-standing experience comes at a time of accelerated development in the Vietnamese market. The country is pursuing high growth targets, investing heavily in infrastructure to support economic, urban, and industrial development. Metro, regional railway, and high-speed rail projects are expected to play a central role in strengthening connections between major metropolitan areas, industrial hubs, port zones, and tourist destinations.
SYSTRA Vietnam was established in January 2026, with its main office located in the Thao Dien area of Ho Chi Minh City and a project office in Hanoi. Patrick Desforges, Managing Director of SYSTRA Vietnam, stated that the new local presence enables the group to mobilize international expertise in transport planning, civil engineering, railway systems research, integration, project management, and operational support while collaborating as closely as possible with Vietnamese clients and partners.
Frédéric Dufour, Senior Vice President of SYSTRA Asia, noted that through SYSTRA Vietnam, the group is shifting from a project-based approach to a local platform approach, enabling it to build development, consolidate partnerships, and mobilize international expertise at a critical juncture. Additionally, SYSTRA is involved in multiple high-speed rail projects in Vietnam, collaborating with public-private partners such as VinGroup, Masterise, and Becamex. This momentum reflects the rapid development of the Vietnamese market, characterized by tight timelines, high technical demands, and the need to build transport solutions suitable for major urban area development.
