en.Wedoany.com Reported - Activos Mineros SAC (AMSAC) participated in a technical lecture titled "Closure of Mining Legacy Issues," held as part of a TED talk within the "Responsible Mining Environmental Solutions" series organized by the Environmental Engineering Chapter of the Lima Regional Committee of the College of Engineers of Peru (Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú, CIP). This lecture was part of the 2026 Environmental Engineering Week. Miguel Tito, Head of the Planning and Continuous Improvement Office at AMSAC, presented the innovative solution project LodoBricks promoted by the institution, which transforms sludge generated from environmental treatment processes into non-structural ecological bricks for the Azalia and Pucará projects in the Pasco region. This proposal is a circular economy alternative applied to mining environmental remediation, contributing to the search for sustainable solutions for closing mining legacy issues by promoting waste reuse.

During his speech, Miguel Tito emphasized that the significant environmental challenges facing the country require innovative and sustainable solutions, and that adopting new technologies in the remediation of mining environmental legacy issues is crucial for moving towards more efficient and responsible environmental management.
Through this technical exchange activity, AMSAC shared its institutional experience in managing mining environmental legacy issues and strengthened knowledge exchange with environmental experts, mining companies, and academia.
