en.Wedoany.com Reported - The fifth National and International Industry and Mining Week Exhibition opened in Kabul, Afghanistan, with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate, diplomats from neighboring and regional countries, business representatives, and industrialists attending the opening ceremony.
Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, reiterated the government's support for such exhibitions at the opening ceremony, stating that their goal is to strengthen domestic industries and promote Afghanistan's economic self-sufficiency. Hanafi called on other countries to utilize Afghanistan as a transit and trade corridor to boost regional economic growth.
Ahmadullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, stated that achieving economic independence requires focusing on domestic production rather than imports. The Islamic Emirate encourages domestic and foreign investment in the industrial and mining sectors by providing incentives such as land allocation and tax exemptions.

Ahmad Nabizada, Chairman of the Chamber of Industry and Mines, called on domestic and foreign investors to invest in mineral processing, stating that Afghanistan is not only a source of raw materials but also holds significant economic potential. Iranian Ambassador to Kabul, Alireza Bikdeli, expressed support for efforts aimed at Afghanistan's independence and development, noting that relations between Tehran and Kabul are moving in a constructive direction, which will strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.
The exhibition features nearly 400 booths, showcasing Afghan products as well as goods from Iran, China, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. This is the second consecutive year that women are not allowed to participate in or visit the exhibition. Mirwais Hotak, one of the exhibitors, stated that the event provides a valuable opportunity for industrialists and the public to learn about the products, innovations, and capabilities of Afghan companies.
Organized by the Chamber of Industry and Mines under the theme "Industry and Mining Week," the exhibition is being held in Kabul from July 1 to July 7.
