Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 10, Nama Power & Water Procurement Company has received bids from 12 international and local developers for Oman’s 2.4 GW power project, encompassing the Duqm IPP in Al Wusta and the Misfah IPP in Muscat. The submission of qualifications includes prominent global firms such as Korea Western Power and Samsung C&T Corporation. Additional international contenders include Shenzhen Energy Group, Sembcorp Utilities, Reliance Power, Sumitomo, and Marubeni Corporation. The bidding also features strong regional participants, enhancing the mix of expertise.
Among the regional bidders are Al Ghanim International, Nebras Power, and Acwa Power Company. Etihad Water and Electricity Company and Al Jomaih Energy & Water Company have also submitted proposals. These submissions reflect a broad interest in contributing to Oman’s energy infrastructure. The two projects, Duqm IPP and Misfah IPP, will utilize combined cycle gas turbines and together offer a total capacity of 2,400 megawatts.
