Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 10, Kazpost, Kazakhstan’s national postal service, and Chinese company YTO Express have agreed to collaborate on building an industrial park near a sorting hub in the Almaty region. This plan emerged from a discussion between Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Yu Huijiao, Chairman of YTO Express’s Board, highlighting a shared commitment to enhancing logistics infrastructure.
The project aims to create a modern, efficient courier delivery system serving Kazakhstan and neighboring Central Asian countries. According to President Tokayev’s press service: “The main goal of this project is to develop a modern and efficient courier delivery network in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries. This year, construction of a sorting hub is planned to begin in the Almaty region, which will reduce delivery times for postal shipments.” The sorting hub’s development is a key step toward streamlining regional postal services.
During their meeting, President Tokayev underscored the value of such partnerships, stressing their role as examples of successful collaboration between governments and global businesses. He highlighted the strategic significance of the initiative, noting its potential to boost connectivity and efficiency in the region. The industrial park, paired with the sorting hub, is expected to support these goals by fostering a robust logistics ecosystem.
YTO Express, formally YTO Express Group Co., Ltd., brings substantial expertise to the project. Established on May 28, 2000, and based in Shanghai, the company is a leading player in China’s express delivery and logistics sector. It provides a wide array of services, including same-day regional delivery, next-day nationwide delivery, international small parcel shipping, and tailored logistics solutions. This experience positions YTO as a strong partner for Kazpost in advancing the Almaty region’s infrastructure.
The planned industrial park near the sorting hub reflects a forward-looking approach to meeting growing demand for efficient delivery services in Central Asia. By starting construction in 2025, the project aims to shorten postal delivery timelines, benefiting both local consumers and businesses. The Almaty region, a key economic hub, stands to gain from improved logistics capabilities, supporting trade and economic activity across the area.
This collaboration between Kazpost and YTO Express demonstrates a practical blend of local and international strengths. It aligns with Kazakhstan’s efforts to modernize its postal and logistics networks while leveraging YTO’s established service model. As the project progresses, it is poised to enhance regional connectivity and set a standard for future cooperative ventures in the logistics sector.
