en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the naming ceremony for the "GREENERGY CLOUD", the sixth vessel of Phase I of the 174,000 m³ membrane-type LNG carrier project for CNOOC Gas and Power Group, built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. and surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS), was held at the Hudong-Zhonghua headquarters in Changxing Island. Guo Jianjun, Deputy General Manager of CCS Shanghai Branch, attended the ceremony.
The naming of the "GREENERGY CLOUD" is of great significance for enhancing China's LNG transportation capacity. The vessel has an overall length of 299 meters, is equipped with a dual-fuel main engine featuring the latest intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation (iCER) system technology, and adopts the GTT NO.96 Super+ membrane cargo containment system. It boasts numerous advantages, including excellent rapid response performance, low comprehensive energy consumption, outstanding low-temperature performance, strong tank type compatibility, light lightship weight, superior cargo capacity, convenient operation and maintenance, and high route adaptability, enabling efficient adaptation to various operational requirements on diversified routes.
With the naming of the "GREENERGY CLOUD", the construction of the six "Green Energy" series LNG carriers under Phase I of the 174,000 m³ membrane-type LNG carrier project for CNOOC Gas and Power Group has been successfully completed. CCS, always anchored by technology and quality, has been deeply involved in all key stages of the vessel's design plan review and construction survey quality control. Relying on professional technical capabilities and a rigorous work style, CCS has provided solid assurance for the safe and high-quality delivery of the six large LNG carriers: "LNG GREEN ENERGY YING", "LNG GREEN ENERGY ZHU", "LNG GREEN ENERGY XING", "LNG GREEN ENERGY YUE", "LNG GREEN ENERGY FENG", and "LNG GREEN ENERGY CLOUD".
During the construction period, the CCS plan review and on-site survey project team, based on the needs of the shipowner and shipyard, proactively coordinated and provided forward-looking services. With exquisite survey techniques and efficient problem response, they won high recognition from all parties. The lead vessel "LNG GREEN ENERGY YING" and the second vessel "LNG GREEN ENERGY ZHU" were awarded the "Green Ship Award" by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for 2024 and 2025, respectively, due to their excellent design and environmental performance, highlighting the outstanding performance of China's LNG fleet. Currently, the "Green Energy" series vessels are operating stably, with their routes covering major ports in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa, injecting strong momentum into the development of China's LNG energy supply chain.
